We discourage the fragmentation of a single study into several thin papers purely to increase publication counts.
Salami publication splits data that could and should be reported together into multiple articles, adding little new value to each.
It inflates the literature, complicates meta-analysis and can mislead readers about the weight of evidence.
Authors must disclose related submissions and prior work so editors can judge whether each paper stands as a distinct contribution.
